| CONJUNTO PRIMAVERA The norteño sextet Conjunto Primavera was founded in Ojinaga, Chihuahua on the first day of spring in 1978; comprising singer Tony Melendez, accordionist/keyboardist Felix Contreras, saxophonist Juan Dominguez, bajosexto player Rolando Perez, bassist Oscar Ochoa and drummer Adan Huerta, the group languished in relative obscurity for well over a decade, releasing some twenty LPs for the Joey label to little notice. In 1995 Conjunto Primavera jumped to the AFG Sigma label and enjoyed immediate success with Me Nortie, their first-ever gold record; the follow-up, Amigo Mesero, launched the hit "Partiendome El Alma." Censurado appeared in 1996, and two years later the group enjoyed the hit LP Necesito Decirte.
